used as Diamonds On The Inside CD cover.
swer.net: Did you know Ben's
music before this collaboration?
Bunni: Yes. Fight For Your Mind
really worked it out for me.
swer.net: How did you meet Ben
and why did you agree to work with him?
Bunni: I met Ben through my fiancé,
Zen. Ben enjoys Zen's clothing company named Charizmatik.
Ben had asked Zen to make him a custom patchwork suit. In
doing this I had the oppurtunity to meet/hang out with Ben
and the band. I accepted to work with him because he inspired
me and I was moved to inspire him.
swer.net: We can read on your
website "Her subject matter often centers on nudes,
nature, flowers and children". We can add that you
like the nudes/nature duo (Resting, Bonnie
and baby, cover of Diamonds On The Inside).
What evokes this nude/nature duo? What did you want to express
through the cover of Diamonds On The Inside?
Bunni: We were all born from
nature. To me the duo isn't a duo it just is. The expression
of the image comes from the viewer. For me to explain what
I want to express would take away from the expression which
is already innately in us. |

swer.net: What is the story
behind the cover of Diamonds On The Inside?
Bunni: I was on the tail end
of a road trip with my favorite model, Leanora. When we
both spotted a crazy sandstorm off the side of the road.
We decided to check it out. The rest is what you see.
swer.net: We can also read
on your website "The vibrancy she evokes in her work
is always real and never the result of digital enchancement."
— This photo is so unreal, so deep, that I
thought it was a photo-composition, with digital treatment.
What gear did you use ?
Bunni: Just a Hasselblad camera
and me printing in the darkroom. That's all.
swer.net: On previous albums
we saw photos of Ben and other musicians, or drawings
and symbols. Your photo is the first one that brings sensuality
to the album artwork. Is this something Ben was searching
for in your work?
Bunni: This praticular image
pre-existed. Ben saw it and asked to use it. I was honored.
swer.net: It's really hard
to reproduce the cover and keep the original colors and
retain all the detail. In the various forms of media (internet,
press, ect.) reproductions are rather bad. Does it upset
you to see bad pictures of such a beautiful photo?
Bunni: Thank you. Any and all
reproductions of anything always harm the original. Just
seeing it reproduced everywhere warms my heart. So, I
guess the anwser is no.
