Ben Harper —
"There are different lap-slide scales length : 25 inch
scales and 20 inch scales. For the 20 inch scales, you need
a thicker string. For the 25 inch scales, you can use light
or medium strings. That gives you a certain flexibility
to go to E or C : if you are tuned to E, you need lighter
strings."
Diamonds On The Inside (2003) — "Except
for the Dart, I put .014-.056 strings on my lap slides.
Dart is built so well that it can take extra-heavy strings,
gauged .016-.058. I use standard lights, gauged .012-.053
on the 6-string acoustics, and I go light on the acoustic
12 - .010-.050 or .011-.052. My electrics have .010 or .011
sets." |
