in most of his acoustic instruments. In the studio, he augments
the Sunrise pickups with vintage tube mikes like Neumann
C-12s or U-67s.

— Ben currently uses a Seymour Duncan Mag Mic Pickup,
which has a huge, very true acoustic sound. It has a built
in mic as well as the magnetic pickup, with separate gain
controls for both.
Prior to the Duncan Harper was extremely fond of the well-balanced
sound of the
Fishman
Rare Earth Pickup (from '98/'99 till 2002).
Electric lap steels
The Asher Ben Harper Model features a Bill Lawrence
single-coil pickups. A few Asher have custom pickups — one
with double-coil pickups wound by
Tom
Anderson, one with two Seymour Duncan humbuckers (double-coil
pickups), one with a standard Sunrise dual coil pickup,
and one with a humbucker and a Fernandes Sustainer.
Pickups in Maton's guitars are Maton AP5 acoustic pickups.
A few Maton have custom pickups — three with horseshoe
pickup and AP5 acoustic pickups, one with a saddle pickup
and an old Rickenbacker pickup.
Rob Mondell's guitars (
Temporary Remedy) has two
Duncan ’59 humbuckers.
The Cole Clark Violap 2 has two humbuckers.
