"Personally, I wasn't aware that old Hermann made
mandolins, so when this one came to visit, I had to take
some pictures and include them in the Museum. Construction
details and style are very much like his Hawaiian guitars,
with the entire body and neck made of koa, naturally. Inside
there's the classic photo label with Himself pictured with
one of his Hawaiian guitars. Notice the lettering on the
guitar, which would be correctly aligned for Hermann to
read if he held in playing position on his lap in the picture.
I suppose the label no more odd than the soundhole through
which it is viewed..." |
